WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference announced its preseason rankings on Thursday, Jan, 31, tabbing the LIU Post men's lacrosse team as the league's co-favorites with the New York Institute of Technology.
 
The Pioneers and Bears both garnered 45 points in the coaches' poll, with LIU Post garnering four first-place votes to three for NYIT. The duo met in a classic ECC Championship matchup last May and are expected to make a run for a repeat title clash in 2019.
 
LIU Post compiled a 10-5 overall record during head coach Eric Wolf's first season at the helm in 2018, including a 5-1 mark in conference play. During the stretch, the Green and Gold knocked off two nationally-ranked opponents, including Adelphi University and Mercy College.
 
The 2019 season is set to begin in two weeks when the Pioneers host American International College at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2:30 p.m.
