Men's Lacrosse Ranked No. 8 in Nike/USL Preseason Poll

COMPLETE PRESEASON RANKINGS

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. –
With the 2019 season on the horizon, U.S. Lacrosse Magazine announced its preseason Division II national poll on Monday, with the LIU Post men's lacrosse team tabbed No. 8 in the country.

The Pioneers are one of three East Coast Conference teams ranked in the national poll. Overall, seven opponents on the LIU Post schedule for the regular season begin the year nationally ranked by the publication.

"It's always nice to be recognized and we appreciate the acknowledgement," commented head coach Eric Wolf. "We are looking forward to starting our 2019 campaign and getting back to work.  Our team is fully aware that rankings don't determine outcomes, hard work does and that is what we are focused on day in and day out.  We can't wait to get after it!"

In head coach Eric Wolf's first season at the helm, the Green and Gold recorded a 10-5 overall record, narrowly missing a berth in the NCAA Division II Championship. The Pioneers suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss in the ECC Championship game to NYIT, and are seeking redemption in their final season as a Division II program.

LIU Post opens the season on Saturday, Feb. 16 against American International College as part of a four-game homestand to begin the year. Faceoff with the Yellow Jackets is slated for 2:30 p.m.
