MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The LIU Post baseball team earned a thrilling 5-4 win over Concordia College – New York Saturday at the Ripken Experience Complex after a walk-off single by junior
Zach Fritz in the Pioneers' fourth game at the Northeast Challenge.
Fritz and senior
Joe Piscitelli both went 2-for-4 at the plate and had two RBIs. Senior
Dave Brehm also went 2-for-4 and added two runs. Senior
Anthony Vaglica had one hit, one run and one RBI while sophomore
Christopher Wasson finished with one hit and one run. LIU Post's nine hits and five RBIs were season-bests.

Julien Arcos pitched five innings and fanned seven batters while senior
Brian Kavanagh pitched four innings, struck out two and earned the win.
The Clippers took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first but the Pioneers ensured Concordia – New York's lead was short-lived in the bottom of the first. Freshman
Giovanni Ciaccio got on base after being hit by a pitch and Wasson followed with a walk. The bases were then loaded after Brehm was hit by a pitch; Vaglica singled and Ciaccio scored. Fritz then grounded out to the pitcher, but Wasson scored and tied the game at 2-2. The Pioneers then took a 4-2 lead after Piscitelli singled and Vaglica and Brehm scored.
Concordia – New York jumped ahead 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth and the teams played to a stalemate until the bottom of the ninth. Brehm led off with a single then stole second. Vaglica walked and Fritz followed with a clutch single that gave LIU Post the win as Brehm scored, giving the Pioneers a 5-4 victory.
