Bonneau Named Sporting News Preseason Honorable Mention All-American

Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) was tabbed as an 2011-12
Sporting News NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Preseason Honorable Mention All-American.
Bonneau had a standout junior season with the Pioneers that saw him garner All-Metropolitan First Team, ECAC Co-Player of the Year, NABC All-East Region Second Team and Daktronics, Inc. All-East Region First Team accolades. He was also named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year while earning a spot on the East Coast Conference First Team. After helping the Pioneer to an ECC Championship and an NCAA East Region bid, he was named the ECC Championships Most Outstanding Player.
A three-time ECC Player of the Week, Bonneau led the Pioneers as well as the ECC in scoring with 18.9 points per game. He also led in three-pointers with 79 and was second in free throw percentage, shooting .872 (102-117), and led the Pioneers in scoring 18 times. The electric guard scored 20+ points on 12 occasions, notching a career-high 39 points on 12-of-21 shooting against Queens, making 10-of-10 free throws in the effort.
