BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (Nov. 19, 2011) – Two veteran guards led the Pioneers to victory, as Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) scored a game-high 27 points and Tobin Carberry (Hamden, Conn.) registered 24 points as C.W. Post defeated Bloomfield 90-82 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

C.W. Post improved to 3-1 while Bloomfield slid to 0-3 to open the season.

The Pioneers jumped out to an early lead, leading by 12 points at the 12:25 mark, but the Deacons went on a 20-10 run to end the half and trailed by just four points heading into the break, with CWP on top 37-33 at halftime.

Bloomfield stayed close early in the second half, but slowly increased the lead back to double digits and took an 11 point lead (60-49) with 11 minutes remaining in the contest.  But a 12-2 Deacon run quickly cut the Pioneer lead down to one, 62-61 with 8:24 to play.

The game stayed close for the next two minutes, but C.W. Post took over with about six minutes to play and quickly pushed to a double-digit lead once again, and led by 11 with exactly two minutes remaining, 82-71.  The Pioneers held onto the lead to secure their third victory of the season.

Bonneau's 27 points came on 11-26 shooting, including four treys and four steals, for good measure.  Carberry went 11-17 from the floor and added three assists and five steals.  Terry
Coleman
(Newburgh, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 points, and Tyaun Williams (Newark, N.J.) added 11 rebounds.

The Pioneers are off until after the Thanksgiving break, as they host Felician on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m.
