Bonneau and Williams Take Home Both ECC Weekly Honors
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jan. 10, 2012) – Two members of the C.W. Post men's basketball team earned Weekly Honors from the ECC as
Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) and
Tyuan Williams (Newark, N.J.) were named Player and Rookie of the Week respectively.
Bonneau earned his second Player of the Week honor on the season behind 23 points per game average during two games last week, as the Pioneers went 2-0. In Wednesday's win over Bridgeport, the senior guard led the team with 31 points and then followed up that up with 15 points during Saturday's win over Saint Thomas Aquinas. During the week, Bonneau also averaged six boards a game while knocking down a total of seven shots from beyond the arc.
Williams also earned his second weekly honor, being named Rookie of the Week for the second time after averaging 12.5 points per game and 7.0 rebounds a game. His rebounding total was a part of an effort that helped the Pioneers control the glass in both games. He also converted on nine of his 10 free throw attempts.
Looking ahead, the Pioneers will be on the road for a conference game at Mercy on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The squad will then be back on the home court of C.W. Post for a 3:30 p.m. conference matchup against Molloy.
