(April 27, 2013) – The Pioneers dropped both ends of today's doubleheader with ECC rival Dowling, 1-0 and 3-2. The losses drop LIU Post to 13-25 overall and 5-14 in conference play. In the first game, the Pioneers lost a pitching duel between Dowling starter Adam Brown and senior Bo Budkevics (Deer Park, N.Y.), 1-0. Brown scattered three LIU Post hits over seven innings as the Pioneers committed two errors on defense. The one run the Golden Lions scored was unearned. In game two, LIU Post was down 3-0 heading into the top of the seventh. With two on, junior Casey McKay (North Massapequa, N.Y.) tripled to center field to score junior Vinny Iacono (Nesconset, N.Y.) and freshman Matt Bowers (Staten Island, N.Y.) to make it 3-2.
