PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Oct. 20, 2014) - In a game that looked destined for overtime, the No. 25 LIU Post women's soccer team got a goal with 41 seconds left in regulation to beat Philadelphia U., 1-0, in a non-conference match at Ravenhill Field.

Junior forward Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) scored in the 90th minute to lift the Pioneers (11-1-1), who remain unbeaten in their last 12 contests.

After both squads played 89 scoreless minutes, Vistnes corraled a pass from senior back Lauren Bellone (West Islip, N.Y.) and sent a shot in from 10 yards out that beat the Rams' (10-3-1) keeper, Courtney Shaw, for the game's only tally.

Vistnes led the Pioneers' offensive attack with two shots on goal. Bellone, sophomore forward/midfielder Julia Backman (Morsil, Sweden), senior forward Morgan Kitton (Bellmore, N.Y.) and junior back Katie LaManna (Smithtown, N.Y.) each added a shot on target.

Sophomore keeper Hreffie Agnarsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) made five saves for the Pioneers. The shutout is her seventh on the season.

Overall, LIU Post held an 11-9 edge in shots and a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Head Coach Mark Dawson and the Pioneers return to action on Saturday (Oct. 25), when they take on Mercy in an East Coast Conference tilt in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
