MANSFIELD, Mass. (Nov. 20, 2015) - On Friday, the Northeast-10 Conference handed out its year-end football awards for 2015, and LIU Post placed seven players on the All-Northeast-10 ledger.

Five of the seven Pioneer players selected were named to the All-Northeast-10 First Team. They were senior tight end Sean Binckes (Brooklyn, N.Y.), junior quarterback Jeff Kidd (Salem, Ore.), senior offensive lineman Mike Sollenne (Massapequa, N.Y.), red-shirt junior wideout Shane Hubbard (St. Albans, N.Y.) and sophomore defensive end Kevin Petit-Frere (Amityville, N.Y.).

Binckes, who broke the Pioneers' career reception mark this season (151), led all Northeast-10 tight ends in receptions with 48. His 428 receiving yards were the third-most on the team and the second-best among conference tight ends, despite missing one game. This is Binckes' second first-team selection, having been honored in 2014.

Kidd, who came to LIU Post just this year, continually led in all of the passing categories throughout the season. He finished with a 129.94 efficiency rating and a 57.2 completion percentage. Kidd's 29 passing touchdowns, 2,778 yards, 235 completions and 411 pass attempts were all tops in the Northeast-10.

Sollenne helped the Pioneers to a No. 44 national ranking in total offense and a 68th-ranked scoring offense. Additionally, he opened up lanes for the LIU Post running backs all season, leading to a No. 8 national ranking in first-down offense.

Hubbard made the All-NE-10 First Team for the second year in a row. He snatched 13 touchdown receptions through 11 games this year, the second-most in the league, tying an LIU Post single-season record. Hubbard placed third in the conference with 870 receiving yards and led all pass-catchers in yards per reception with 17.3.

Petit-Frere was a force on the defensive front. He led the Northeast-10 in sacks for most of the season, and finished with seven total sacks. He also collected 50 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two forced fumbles on the year, including a career-high 10 tackles against Assumption College on Sept. 12.

Red-shirt junior defensive lineman Kenny Scotland (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) was named to the All-Northeast-10 Second Team. Scotland tied Petit-Frere with a team-best seven sacks this season and his 11.5 tackles for loss were sixth-best in the conference. He was a regular force in the offensive backfield, amassing 10 quarterback hurries and five pass break-ups.

Red-shirt freshman running back Malik Pierre (Holbrook, N.Y.) was selected to the NE-10 All-Rookie Team. Pierre exploded onto the scene, making his debut at East Stroudsburg University with 117 yards rushing and 213 kick return yards. Later, he ran for a season-high 238 yards and three touchdowns versus Stonehill College. Overall, his 737 rushing yards ranked ninth-best in the conference, while his 1,231 all-purpose yards slotted him fifth in the NE-10 in that category.
