The Pioneers later built as much as a 14-point cushion (36-22) in the opening stanza, and eventually brought a 49-40 edge into halftime.
Early in the second half, the green and gold held a two-possession lead (54-48), until a 16-6 spurt by the visitors widened the gap to 70-54 with 13:49 to go. Burns and Dotson netted back-to-back trifectas to spark the run. Senior guard
Akosa Maduegbunam (Hyde Park, Mass.) rounded it out with a lay-up on the fast break.
That proved to be all LIU Post needed to secure its second-straight victory. In addition to making half their shots from the floor, the Pioneers buried 7-of-18 (38.9 percent) attempts from beyond the arc.
