DANBURY, Conn. (Dec. 18, 2015) - On Friday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released its 2015 Football All-Stars, and four Pioneers were honored.
Junior quarterback
Jeff Kidd (Salem, Ore.), red-shirt junior wideout
Shane Hubbard (St. Albans, N.Y.), senior offensive lineman
Mike Sollenne (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore defensive lineman
Kevin Petit-Frere (Amityville, N.Y.) were all named ECAC First Team All-Stars.
All four players were All-Northeast-10 Conference selections, as well.
Kidd, who came to LIU Post just this year, continually led the NE-10 in all of the passing categories throughout the season. He finished with a 129.94 efficiency rating and a 57.2 completion percentage. Kidd's 29 passing touchdowns, 2,778 yards, 235 completions and 411 pass attempts were all tops in the Northeast-10.
Hubbard, a two-time All-NE-10 first-team selection, snatched 13 touchdown receptions through 11 games this year, the second-most in the league, tying an LIU Post single-season record. Hubbard placed third in the conference with 870 receiving yards and led all pass-catchers in yards per reception with 17.3.Sollenne helped the Pioneers to a No. 44 national ranking in total offense and a 68th-ranked scoring offense. Additionally, he opened up lanes for the LIU Post running backs all season, leading to a No. 8 national ranking in first-down offense.
Petit-Frere was a force on the defensive front. He led the Northeast-10 in sacks for most of the season, and finished with seven total sacks. He also collected 50 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two forced fumbles on the year, including a career-high 10 tackles against Assumption College on Sept. 12.
