WACO, Texas (Sept. 21, 2015) - For a third-consecutive week, the LIU Post football team continued to obtain votes in the American Football Coaches Association Division II Top-25 Poll, released Monday afternoon.
The Pioneers, following their first 3-0 start since 2002, saw an exponential rise in votes this week, as they earned 17 of them. LIU Post is coming off its third-straight win to start the season Saturday, defeating Saint Anselm College by a 24-20 final.
Red-shirt junior wide receiver
Shane Hubbard (St. Albans, N.Y.) hauled in six balls for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the victory, including an eventual game-winning 23-yard touchdown catch at the 7:52 mark of the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, red-shirt senior linebacker
Brandon Cheney (Hewlett, N.Y.) made 10 tackles (five solo) and forced two fumbles, one of which was a game-saving strip at the Pioneers' 19-yard line with 5:25 remaining in regulation.
Minnesota State University-Mankato (29 first-place votes) maintained its strong hold on the top spot in the poll. University of West Georgia and Northwest Missouri State University also stood pat, holding at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Bryan Collins and his LIU Post squad return to the gridiron Saturday (Sept. 26), when they host Stonehill College in an Northeast-10 Conference clash at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
