BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 23, 2016) - On Sunday, the No. 2 LIU Post men's soccer team won its second-straight overtime contest, defeating St. Thomas Aquinas College, 1-0, in East Coast Conference action at Pioneer Soccer Park.
Sophomore midfielder
Charlie Ledula (London, England) netted the game-winner in the 100th minute. After
Jason Lampkin (Hawardon, Wales, United Kingdom) flicked a pass towards the far post, Ledula headed a shot into the left side of the net at the 18-second mark.
Less than two minutes Into the second half, Ledula nearly broke a then-scoreless tie, but his shot clanged off the post. He led all players with seven shots in the latter 45 minutes of play, five of which were on net.
In all, the Pioneers (13-0-1, 6-0-1 ECC) owned a 17-9 differential in shots in the match, including a 4-0 edge in overtime. Additionally, the green and gold held a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Between the pipes, senior goalkeeper
Jesper Malmstrom (Linkopping, Sweden) made two saves for LIU Post. Sophomore netminder Jack Nicholson (Totton Southampton, England) stopped nine shots for STAC (8-3-4, 3-2-1 ECC).

Andreas Lindberg and the Pioneers return to the pitch Wednesday (Oct. 26), when they face ECC opponent University of the District of Columbia in their 2016 regular-season home finale at Pioneer Soccer Park. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m.
