Football Ties Highest National Ranking in Program History

WACO, Texas (Oct. 31, 2016) - On Monday, the LIU Post football team tied its highest national ranking in program history, slotting in at No. 10 in Monday's American Football Coaches Association Division II Poll.

The Pioneers were previously ranked 10th in 2002, when they completed an unbeaten regular season of 11-0 and won the Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

LIU Post is one of only eight remaining undefeated programs in Division II. Northwest Missouri State, which boasts an unblemished 9-0 record, topped the poll with 750 points and 30 first-place votes.

The Pioneers improved to an identical 9-0 mark last Saturday, after dispatching Pace, 35-17, to capture the NE-10 regular-season title. Senior running back David White (Bronx, N.Y.) rushed for a game-high 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the victory.

Head Coach Bryan Collins and his LIU Post squad return to the gridiron Saturday (Nov. 5), when they face NE-10 foe Merrimack College at 1 p.m. in North Andover, Mass.
