ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Feb. 21, 2016) - Junior guard Jared Hall (South Orange, N.J.) scored a career-high 34 points Sunday to lift the LIU Post men's basketball team to a 90-77 win over East Coast Conference nemesis Roberts Wesleyan College at the Voller Athletic Center.

Hall's 34 points were the highest scoring output of any Pioneer in the 2015-16 season. He shot 12-of-25 from the field, while grabbing seven rebounds and earning four steals. Senior guard Dillon Burns (Staten Island, N.Y.) had 14 points and 10 assists for a double-double. Senior guard Akosa Maduegbunam (Hyde Park, Mass.) and junior forward Greg Dotson (Abington, Pa.) individually added 12 and 11 points.

Down 39-30 with less than six minutes left in the first half, LIU Post (17-10, 12-7 ECC) rallied to even the score at 42-all, behind a 12-3 run in a span of 2:57. Hall buried back-to-back three-pointers in that spurt. Senior forward Michael Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) laid in the game-tying basket.

However, Roberts Wesleyan (7-17, 4-15 ECC) brought a 49-44 edge into halftime. The Redhawks later held a seven-point cushion (63-56) with 12-plus minutes remaining in the latter period.

The Pioneers, who shot 47.2 percent (34-of-72) from the field in the contest, fought back to re-gain the lead. A 14-3 burst in a four-minute stretch put the green and gold ahead 70-66 at the 9:04 mark.

Maduegbunam netted back-to-back lay-ups. Hall drained a pair of free throws to get it going and capped it off with a three-point play. Burns contributed a lay-up, as well.

Though Roberts subsequently closed the gap to two points (70-68) on the ensuing possession, LIU Post built up a double-digit advantage in the final minutes to shut the door.

Maduegbunam and Dotson both collected six rebounds in the victory. Junior forward Barrington Alston (Wilmington, Del.) racked up eight points and five rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench. Senior guard Devon McMillan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) totaled seven rebounds, four assists, three points and two steals. Phillip pitched in six points and three boards.

Head Coach Erik Smiles and his LIU Post squad wrap up the 2015-16 regular season Saturday (Feb. 27) against University of the District of Columbia in an ECC showdown at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, N.Y. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
