Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) had a game-high six points Saturday to power the No. 5/8 LIU Post women's lacrosse team past East Coast Conference nemesis Queens College, 12-3, at the QC Lacrosse Field.
Delaney scored four of her five goals in the first half to help the Pioneers (12-3, 6-1 ECC) to a 7-1 halftime lead. In the first 30 minutes, LIU Post outshot Queens (6-8, 0-6 ECC) by an overwhelming 17-4 count.
Then, in the latter session, the green and gold widened their advantage to as many as nine goals (12-3). Junior attacker
Stefani Vagelatos (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) registered a goal and an assist in the period, while senior attacker
Jessica Marsh (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder

Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.) recorded three points (2 G, 1 A) apiece in the contest. Senior defender/midfielder
Honey Roche (Centerport, N.Y.) won seven draws and caused two turnovers. Junior defender/midfielder
Cara Douglas (West Isip, N.Y.) forced a game-high six turnovers, in addition to scooping up three ground balls and one draw control.
Between the pipes, sophomore goalie
Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) made eight saves for LIU Post, which won 13 draws to Queens' four. The Pioneers were also a perfect 10-of-10 on clears and 3-of-7 (42.8 percent) on free-position attempts.

Meghan McNamara and her LIU Post squad return to action Tuesday (Apr. 26), when they take on Stonehill College in a non-conference match-up at 4 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville.
