Pleasantville, N.Y. – Yianni Gavalas passed for four scores to lead LIU Post (6-2, 5-2 NE-10) to its third-consecutive victory with a 41-14 rout over Pace University (3-5, 2-5) in an NE-10 showdown at Pace Stadium. Gavalas was 25-of-34 for 327 yards with a pair touchdown passes to
Malik Pierre (14 yards, 8 yards),
Michael Richardson (52 yards) and
Deon Mash (30 yards).
LIU Post trailed 7-6 at the beginning of the second quarter before a 10-play, 75-yard drive by the Pioneers that resulted in a Pierre one-yard touchdown run to give the guests a 12-7 lead. With a minute remaining in the half, Gavalas hooked up with Pierre for a 14-yard touchdown and successfully converted the two-point attempt to take a 20-7 lead into the half.
After receiving possession to start the third, Galavas and the LIU Post offense finished off a 75-yard drive with an eight-yard touchdown strike to Pierre making it a 27-7 game. The green and gold weren't done there. On the ensuing series, Gavalas finished off a quick one-play, 52-yard drive with a hailing a touchdown to senior wide receiver
Michael Richardson to give LIU Post a commanding 34-7 advantage.
Galavas threw his third touchdown pass late in the third quarter, and Pace would respond back on the next drive, but it wasn't enough as the Pioneers walked away with the win.
Richardson hauled in four passes for 86 yards and a touchdown on the afternoon. Pierre rushed 12 times for 60 yards and two touchdowns while making seven receptions for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Jake Carlock led all players with 11 tackles (six solo, five assists). Linebacker
Patrick Williams contributed seven tackled (two solo, five assist) in the effort.
