LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2017) - Junior midfielder Dylan Harned (Selden, N.Y.) tallied the game-winning goal with 12 seconds left in regulation to propel the No. 7/8 LIU Post men's lacrosse team to an 11-10 win at Florida Southern College in a non-conference tilt at Bryant Stadium in Lakeland.

Tied 10-10 in the final minute of the fourth quarter, junior defenseman Ryan Baker (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) caused a key turnover by the Mocs (0-1) to set up the late-game heroics by Harned.

In the opening half, the Pioneers (1-1) trailed 2-1 late in the first quarter, until a three-goal run in a five-minute stretch gave the visitors a 4-2 advantage at the 14:05 mark. Harned, sophomore midfielder Steven Frank (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Dan Foley (Carmel, N.Y.) each notched an even-strength marker in the burst.

The green and gold eventually took a 5-4 lead into the locker room, after sophomore attackman/midfielder Frank Ranfone (Guilford, Conn.) scored a man-up goal with 1:41 remaining to break a 4-4 tie.

In the final 15-minute session, Foley and junior attackman Chris Trasacco (Cheshire, Conn.) found the back of the cage just 1:25 apart to put the Pioneers ahead 10-8 with 11:08 to go.

However, the Mocs responded with a pair of late goals from Tyler Kopen (Wynnewood, Pa.) and Kevin Dyer (Slingerlands, N.Y.) to even the score at 10-all with 1:38 left.

Trasacco had a game-high five points (3 G, 2 A) in the contest and scooped up four ground balls. Harned registered three goals. Foley added two goals and an assist for a three-point output.

Between the pipes, senior cageminder Matthew Liantonio (Miller Place, N.Y.) made eight saves for LIU Post. Senior goalie Matt Lalli (New Milford, Conn.) stopped 14 shots for Florida Southern.

For the game, the Pioneers owned a 40-30 edge in shots. They were also a perfect 10-of-10 on clears and 3-of-5 (60.0 percent) on extra-man opportunities.

Head Coach John Jez and his LIU Post squad return to action Friday (Feb. 10), when they travel to Springfield, Mass. to face American International College at 4 p.m.
