Londot, Carlock Garner Weekly Recognition

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Northeast-10 Conference and East Coast Conference announced two Pioneers as the league's Players of the Week on Monday, Sept. 24.

The NE10 tabbed redshirt-senior Jake Carlock as the Special Teams Player of the Week for football, while the ECC announced senior Rachel Londot as the women's volleyball Player of the Week.

The LIU Post football team took down Bentley University, 38-3, thanks in large part to a huge play created by Carlock during the second quarter. With the Pioneers leading 7-3, Carlock broke through the line and blocked a punt attempt deep in Bentley territory and fell on the loose ball in the end zone for a touchdown. The play changed the momentum of the game, as the Green and Gold went on to score an eventual 38 unanswered points for its third-consecutive victory to begin the season.

On the court, Londot was outstanding over two matches against Roberts Wesleyan College and Daemen College. The senior put down 33 kills and compiled a .347 hitting percentage, notching a double-double in both matches. In the weekend opener against the Redhawks, Londot posted 18 kills and added 10 digs on an outstanding .457 hitting percentage and wrapped the weekend with 15 kills and matched her season-high with 17 digs against the Wildcats.
