NE10 RELEASE
 
MANSFIELD, Mass. – LIU Post had four student-athletes honored for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the field Friday as the Northeast-10 announced its Academic All-Conference teams.
 
Redshirt seniors Deon Mash and Patrick Williams along with redshirt junior Abel Joseph of football were among those honored, as well as sophomore Rachel Vellis of field hockey.
 
In order to earn selection for the NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, student-athletes must have started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of teams competitions as a significant contributor and earned a 3.30 cumulative GPA.
 
With three football honorees, LIU Post tied Bentley University for the most of any football program in the conference.
 
Mash, a finance major, boats 3.47 GPA. He was a second team All-NE10 performer, started all 11 contests and ranked second on the team with 45 receptions, 629 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.
 
Joseph is a finance major with a 3.55 GPA.  He was named to the Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Super Region I second team, was a first team All-NE10 honoree and recorded 29 total tackles with seven tackles for loss along with three sacks.
 
Williams holds a 3.96 GPA and is also a finance major. He started 11 games, recording 51 tackles to rank sixth on the team.
 
Vellis, a criminal justice major with a 3.58 GPA was also named All-NE10 third team. She started all 18 games and was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 18, 2018 and Nov. 6, 2018. Her .784 save percentage was fourth in the conference and ninth nationally. Her 109 saves ranked sixth in the conference.
