Marlon Bottoms enters his third season with the LIU Post men's basketball team in 2015-16.
He arrives in Brookville after an 11-year appointment with the New York Panthers AAU program. Over that stretch, Bottoms served as a coach and an associate director. His responsibilities consisted of travel arrangements and all administrative duties, which included correspondence with college coaches.
Bottoms also served as the Co-Head Coach of the Hempstead Salvation Army Basketball Team under his mentor Don Ryan. While there, his 12-year-old squad won the 2003 National Biddy Basketball Championship. Plus, Bottoms took his youth teams around the globe to New Orleans, Las Vegas and Helsinki, where they represented Biddy Basketball for the United States.
Bottoms, who is currently employed as a Detective in the Hempstead Police Department, earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from St. John's University in 1988.
He lives with his wife, Tonia, and daughter, Makayla.
