Keegan Garcia enters his fifth year as an assistant coach with the LIU Post volleyball team in 2015.

Before joining the Pioneers, he was at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. From 2004-07, as well as in 2010, he served as the assists coach for the women’s volleyball squad, before becoming the men’s volleyball head coach.

As a player, Garcia competed for the Trinidad and Tobago National Team from 1999 to 2004. He then came to the U.S. to play one year at Queens College, and subsequently transferred to Medgar Evers. In his playing days at the Brooklyn school, he earned CUNY First Team All-Star recognition in all three years (2005-07), and was also named NECVA Outside Hitter All-Conference in 2005 and NECVA First Team All-Conference in 2005 and 2007.

Garcia, who is certified by FIVB as a Level 1 Volleyball Coach, graduated from Medgar Evers with a degree in Biology.
