On Jun. 21, 2016, LIU Post Head Softball Coach Jamie Apicella announced the hiring of Allie Pisciotta to the Pioneers' coaching staff.

Pisciotta put together a standout four-year career at Division I program Stony Brook University from 2013-16. She was a two-time All-America East Conference first-team selection and earned a spot on the AE All-Rookie Team in 2013.

Pisciotta batted a career .355 for the Seawolves with 24 home runs and 99 RBIs. She also scored 107 runs and hit 24 doubles, while carrying a lifetime .544 slugging, .416 on-base and .995 fielding percentage.

"I am very excited to announce the addition of Allie Pisciotta to our coaching staff," said Apicella. "When the position recently opened, I was looking for a candidate who possessed passion, knowledge of the game and a positive and successful collegiate playing career. Allie was afforded all of those traits from her experiences of playing at Stony Brook, under the tutelage of Megan Bryant."

He later added: "Allie will work directly with our catching core and assist in our offensive approach. She will also help in other facets of the program, such as team defense on the field and local recruiting. Her characteristics and experiences will allow Allie to quickly transition from player to coach. The addition of Allie and the new players to the program has energized me for the upcoming fall season and the expectations for the year ahead."

Pisciotta currently ranks seventh all-time at Stony Brook in career home runs and had the third-most hits in a single season by a Seawolf in 2016 with 66. Additionally, Pisciotta was tabbed as a recipient of Stony Brook's Athletic Excellence Award.

Pisciotta resides in New Hyde Park, N.Y.
