BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2008) - Sophomore striker
Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) scored two goals to lead the fourth-ranked Pioneers past Dowling College, 2-1, in a battle of undefeated East Coast Conference teams on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers improve to 11-1-0 and 4-0 in the ECC with the win, while Dowling now stands at 7-4-3 and 4-1-1 with the loss.
Babic scored her first goal in the 27th minute of the first half, as she took a pass from junior midfielder
Melissa Pascarella (Sayville, N.Y.), took two touches around a Dowling defender, and sent a 15-yard shot into the lower right corner past Dowling keeper Alicia Commisso.
Dowling scored the equalizer in the second half, with Cassandra Cronin taking an assist from Kristin Cipriano and sending a shot from 5 yards out into the lower left corner past a diving Pioneer keeper

With less than five minutes remaining in regulation, Babic struck again as she took a pass from
Sanna Pettersson (Fellingsbro, Sweden) and sent a shot into the lower right corner for the 2-1 Pioneer lead.
Freshman keeper Weiser had four saves and allowed one goal in the win. Commisso made nine saves on the day.
The Pioneers outshot Dowling by a 19-12 count, but Dowling held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
