KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Nov. 4, 2008)- The National Soccer Coaches Association released its latest national polls Tuesday afternoon. The C.W. Post Pioneers have moved to the eighth place slot, remaining the only East Coast Conference team to be nationally ranked. Conference rival University of Bridgeport received votes, but did not receive a national ranking.

The Pioneers current ranking was based on the prior week's contest against the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. C.W. Post dropped a 2-1 decision to Bridgeport, earning it's first conference loss, and the team's second overall loss of the season. Senior Maria Sonnerborg scored the lone goal for C.W. Post, her 16th of the season. Freshman keeper Allie Weiser had seven saves in net as the Pioneers attempted to overcome the Purple Knights. C.W. Post finished regular season play with an overall record of 15-2-1, and 8-1 in the ECC.

The Pioneers take action again Friday as they host the East Coast Conference championships. C.W. Post will take on Dowling College at 2 p.m.
