Yodowitz Named ECC Player Of The Year; No. 10 Softball Boasts Seven All-Conference Players

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 2, 2008) –
Senior Samantha Yodowitz (Suffern, N.Y.), along with Dowling College's Tara Wallace, was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year, as voted on by the conference coaches. 

Seniors Holly Eringis (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Kelsey Cooley (Syracuse, N.Y.) along with sophomores Melissa Medina (Levittown, N.Y.) and Christie Softy (Floral Park, N.Y.) were named All-Conference First Team. 

The Second Team included seniors Yodowitz and Katie Younes (Newbury, Mass.) as well as junior Melissa Hippo (Granite Bay, Calif.). 

Yodowitz was dominant in the pitching circle, posting a league low ERA of 1.15 (1.09 ECC), and was the league leader in wins with a 23-6 mark (9-1 ECC). She led the ECC with 32 appearances and finished second in strikeouts with 160 while holding opposing batters to a .186 batting average. Yodowitz also provided power at the plate, hitting .341 with seven home runs and 36 RBI. 

C.W. Post (43-14, 18-2 ECC) is currently ranked 10th in this week's NFCA poll and will again host the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional, beginning Wednesday, May 7.
