Cross Country Competes At The Codfish Bowl

BOSTON, Mass. (Sept. 27, 2008) – Junior Kristen Sweeney (Kennebunk, Maine) placed 43rd overall in a field of 151 runners as C.W. Post women's cross country finished 10th at the Codfish Bowl Cross Country Races, held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Pioneer women drew 283 points at the meet. The Greater Boston TC was the overall winner of the event on the women's side as well as the men's side.
 
Freshman #Maria Costello# (Patchogue, N.Y.) finished second overall for the Pioneers with a final time of 21:29 followed by junior Erin Lusenskas (East Atlantic, N.Y.) (22:03), whose time was more then a minute better then her previous personal record, Kristin Coscia (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) (22:39), with another PR, followed by junior Irekpitan Ehikioya (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and freshman Melissa Norman (West Haven, Conn.)
 
On the men's side, junior Thomas Brouillard (Syosset, N.Y.) was the top finisher for C.W. Post on the five-mile course with a final time of 28 minutes and four seconds, bettering his own personal record for the second week in a row.
 
Sophomore Timothy Arscott (Ridgewood, N.J.) finished second for the Pioneers at 28:55, marking a strong return for the harrier from an injury, as his finish was only 15 seconds away from his PR. Senior Anthony Walcott (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) followed at 30:12.
 
C.W. Post will run its next course meet at the DeSales Invitational in Center Valley, Pa., on Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m.
