KANSAS CITY, Kas. (Sept. 30, 2008)
- The C.W. Post women's soccer team moved up eight spots in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association's national polls. Last week the Pioneers had dropped to 14th place after a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss to Southern New Hampshire. C.W. Post remains the only East Coast Conference teams to be ranked nationally, for the seventh week in a row.
The Pioneers regained their sixth place position after a 3-0 win over Holy Family University. Freshman goalkeeper Allie Weiser (Grand Island, N.Y.) made five saves in net, earning her third shutout for the season. Sanna Pettersson (Fellingsboro, Sweden) scored her first goal of the season to help her team earn the win.
Head Coach Mark Dawson's Pioneers will be back in action again Wednesday as they travel to North Easton, Mass. to take on Stonehill College at 4 p.m.
