PHILADELPHIA (Sep. 7, 2008) – Sophomore midfielder
Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) scored two of C.W. Post's four goals as the Pioneers captured a 4-0 win over the Philadelphia Rams in Sunday afternoon's women's soccer action.
C.W. Post improves to 3-0 overall while Philadelphia drops to 0-4.
The Pioneers outshot the Rams by a 24-6 margin, including 18 shots on goal.
All of C.W. Post's goals were scored in the second half as Babic scored her first goal in the 65
th minute on an open goal shot and followed up another goal on a pass from sophomore midfielder
Jackie Sousa (North Reading, Mass.) in the 70
th minute.
Ten minutes later, the Pioneers were building their lead up with a goal from senior forward
Maria Sonnerborg (Bjarred, Sweden) on a feed from junior midfielder
Melissa Pascarella (Sayville, N.Y.) at 79:42.
Pascarella followed up with a goal of her own in the 87
th minute with junior midfielder
Lindsey Nick (Hauppauge, N.Y.) in the 87
th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Deanna Esposito (Sayville, N.Y.) made three stops in goal to record her first career shutout. Philadelphia's Sara Hall made 13 saves in goal.
C.W. Post will host Caldwell College on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. on Robert Blitz Field.
