Three Pioneers Named To NSCAA Division II All Region Squad
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Dec. 11, 2009)- Three C.W. Post women's soccer players were honored with NSCAA Division II All-East Region nominations, as voted on by its members. Junior
Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) was recognized as a All-East Region second team member, while senior
Caitlin Mullady (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and freshman
Prudence Rydstrom (Islip, N.Y.) earned All-East Region third team nods.
Mullady capped off her final season as a Pioneer with numerous honors, including Daktronics, Inc. All-Region and All-America honors, as well as being named ECC Defensive Player of the Year and earning First Team all-conference recognition. She helped the Pioneers to a total 12 wins, including nine shutouts, while starting all 19 games for C.W. Post in the backfield.
Babic led her squad in scoring, registering 10 goals and six assists, including four game winning goals, for a total of 26 points during her 19 games played. Rydstrom started in all 19 games during her debut season tallying one goal and one assist for the season. Babic and Rydstrom both earned a spot on the ECC All-Conference roster earlier this season.
