Football Announces NLI Signings For 2009 Season

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 4, 2009) – C.W. Post head football coach Bryan Collins announced that 10 student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the upcoming 2009 fall season. 
 
The incoming class includes two January signings and eight freshmen.   
 
Entering the second year playing in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, the coaching staff recruited a class that could see a lot of playing time, though Collins notes there will be more additions to the roster. 
 
“We're not finished yet,” says Collins. “This group of talented individuals fit our immediate needs and we expect more to join this class. Each one will be expected to come in and compete in the prestigious PSAC and we will continue to actively recruit in the local area.”
 
 
Ryan Contee – (DL, 6-1, 245; Charlestown, R.I./Dean College)
 
Contee was a two-year starter at Dean and helped the Bulldogs capture the 2007 National Junior College Athletic Association Championship (NJCAA). 
 
Will Figueroa – (WR, 5-10, 175; Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's)
 
Figueroa caught 14 catches for 127 yards during his final year at Milford in 2008. 
 
John Corrigan – (DL, 6-0, 260; Hamburg, N.J./Pope St. John H.S.)
 
Corrigan, younger brother of C.W. Post defensive lineman Peter Corrigan, is a New Jersey Super 100  recruit who garnered First Team All-State as well as First Team all-parochial, All-League and All-Conference honors. He was named the team's most valuable player.
 
Sean Smith – (OLB, 5-11, 205; Farmingdale, N.J./Colt's Neck)
 
Smith is an all-shore defensive linebacker and was named Division Player of the Year as well as the team's most valuable player. 
 
Kyle Hardy – (WR/DB, 6-3, 175; Matawan, N.J./Matawan)
 
Hardy is a two-time all-Shore conference player at Matawan. He is ranked 103rd at his position by espn.com.
 
Jeff Harvey – (DB, 6-2, 180; Piscataway, N.J./Bishop Ahr.)
 
Harvey was named second team all-parochial and all-county while at Bishop.
 
Matt Sheehy – (WR, 6-1, 190; North Brunswick, N.J./Bishop Ahr.)
 
Sheehy was named First Team All-Division and second team all-area. He helped lead the Trojans to the state playoffs.
 
Sean Persch – (WR, 5-11, 185; Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley)
 
Persch broke the school's receiving record, combining for 143 catches during his junior and senior year. He received All-State honors.
 
Justin Perez – (QB, 6-0, 195; Freehold, N.J./St. Peter's H.S.)
 
Perez was a one-time MSG Player of the Week and was named All-County his junior and senior year.
 
Chris Williams – (OL, 6-3, 280; Syosset, N.Y./Syosset)
 
Williams helped lead Syosset to a 7-2 overall record in Conference I. He was named All-State and all-Long Island.
