Kiser Earns CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Honors

CoSIDA/ESPN All District Teams
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 7, 2009)
– The CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District announced All-District teams and sophomore Sarah Kiser (Cooper City, Fla.) was named to the Second Team. 

Kiser, a School Health Profession and Nursing major, joins University of New Haven's Breanne Gleason and Adelphi's Samantha Johnston as the only Division II players to earn the distinction.
Kiser has led the Pioneers in the circle this year with a record of 17-3.  She leads the East Coast Conference with a 1.04 ERA while holding her opponents to a .211 batting average.  In her 142 innings, Kiser has struck out 158 batters and has thrown 18 complete games, including eight shutouts. 
The Pioneers went 3-0 during the ECC tournament to claim their second championship title. Kiser pitched every game and recorded a 0.35 ERA while giving up just one earned run in 20 innings pitched.
C.W. Post (33-16) will host a four-team regional as part of the NCAA East regional, beginning Friday. The Pioneers will take on seventh-seeded University of New Haven at 1 p.m at the C.W. Post Softball Complex.
