Cross Country Ranks In ECC Preseason Poll
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Aug. 27, 2009)- The East Coast Conference released its preseason polls for 2009, ranking the C.W. Post women's cross country team first in the conference, while the men's team received a fifth place ranking.
The Pioneers claimed seven of the eight first-place votes and accumulated 63 total points to top the women's poll. C.W. Post claimed a second place finish in the 2008 ECC Championships with 81 points. NYIT received the final first-place vote and amassed 53 points for the No. 2 slot while Molloy was picked third, with 42 points.
The Pioneer men received two first place votes and received 37 points to earn their overall fifth place ranking.
The C.W. Post cross country team starts off its season with an appearance at the Hofstra Invitational meet on September 5.
