Nahl Leads No. 18 Women's Soccer Past Holy Family, 4-1, In Pioneers' Home Opener

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 2, 2009)- Junior Qaroline Nahl (Kumla, Sweden) scored two of C.W. Post's four goals as the Pioneers captured a 4-1 win over Holy Family University in C.W. Post's 2009 home opener Wednesday afternoon.
C.W. Post improves to 3-0 overall, while the Tigers drops to 0-3.
Nahl put C.W. Post on the board 21:37 into action as she connected with teammate Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) for a ten yard shot into the upper right corner. Nahl knocked in her second goal of the game, unassisted, just before the end of the first half as she beat Holy Family goalkeeper Gina Mansi (Washington Twp., N.J.) to score on an open net and give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead at the half.
Babic tallied a goal of her own to open the second half drilling a feed from sophomore Tove Eriksson (Helsingborg, Sweden) into the bottom right corner of the net to give C.W. Post a three goal advantage. Senior midfielder Melissa Pascarella (Sayville, N.Y.) connected with teammate Lindsey Nick (Hauppauge, N.Y.) to score the Pioneers' fourth goal of the game at the 72:53 mark. Holy Family midfielder Melissa Moratti (Fairless Hill, Pa.) scored the lone goal for the Tigers off a cross from teammate Megan Tole (Philadelphia, Pa.) to close out the second half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Allie Weiser (Grand Island, N.Y.) made two saves in net for the Pioneers, while Mansi registered eight saves for the Tigers.
C.W. Post outshot Holy Family 26-5 and kept a 4-2 margin over the Tigers in corner kicks.
Head Coach Mark Dawson's Pioneers are back in action Sept. 8 as they travel to Southern Connecticut State University for a 7 p.m. game.
