ALBANY, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2009)- The No. 3 Saint Rose Golden Knights scored two unanswered goals in the second half to triumph over the C.W. Post Pioneers Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Knights improve their record to a perfect 8-0, while the Pioneers fall to 5-2-1.

Both teams held each other scoreless going into halftime. Saint Rose junior midfielder Amanda Deck (Cicero, N.Y.) ended the scoreless battle as she took a 20-yard shot to find the right corner of the net and give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. Sophomore midfielder Brittany Goldin (Rochester, N.Y.) tallied an unassisted goal in the 81st minute off a failed clear by the Pioneers to solidify the win for Saint Rose and protect the Golden Knights undefeated record. 

Freshman defender Prudence Rydstrom (Islip, N.Y.) registered two shots on goal in an effort to put the Pioneers on the board.

Freshman keeper Nicole Fierro (East Hampton, N.Y.) made five saves in net for C.W. Post. Golden Knights keeper Deanna Esposito (Sayville, N.Y.) ensured the win for Saint Rose with five saves.

Saint Rose outshot C.W. Post 9-3 and held a 15-7 advantage in corner kicks.

C.W. Post is back in action Saturday, Sept. 26, as they travel to Caldwell College for a 12 p.m.
