No. 13 Women's Soccer Set To Face No. 1 Saint Rose For East Region Championship
WEST CHESTER, Pa. (Nov. 19, 2010) - The women's soccer team will play for the East Regional Championship this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at South Campus Field on the campus of West Chester University in the East Region final of the 2010 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament.
C.W. Post owns a 7-1 all-time series edge over Saint Rose, with all eight meetings coming in regular season matchups, and this will be the first postseason meeting between the two teams. The squads split their last two meetings, with the Pioneers defeating Saint Rose in 2008, 2-1, but Saint Rose rebounding in 2009 to come away with a 2-0 decision.
The Golden Knights are currenlty #1 in the nation according to the NSCAA poll, a position they have held the past three quarters of the season, however, the Pioneers are not far behind as they entered the poll several weeks into the season and secured the 13th spot in the final regular season poll, released on Tuesday.
