Women's Soccer Selected To Host NCAA Div. II Northeast Regional

INDIANAPOLIS
(Nov. 8, 2010) – The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee released the 2010 48-team tournament field today and the C.W. Post women's soccer team was awarded a bid in the NCAA Tournament as the second seed in the East region.  It marks the third time in the last four years the Pioneers have participated in the NCAA Championships. 

Saint Rose (21-0-0) and C.W. Post (13-1-4) were selected as the top-two seeds in the East Region and will each host first and second round games. A total of eight regions that consist of six teams begin play on Friday, November 12 in first round action. 

From the NE-10, American International (13-6-1) was selected as the three seed, and Georgian Court (11-8-2) earned the six seed and will represent the CACC.  AIC and Georgian Court will face each other on Friday's first round matchup, with the winner advancing to the second round on Sunday where they will face the Pioneers.

Saint Rose, the top seed in the region and and the other host site for the East Regional tournmanent, 
 will meet the winner of Franklin Pierce University (14-5-1) and Bridgeport University (13-3-2).

C.W. Post, currently ranked 15th in the latest NSCAA national poll, won the East Coast Conference Championship title with a 1-0 victory over Queens College on Nov. 7 . 
C.W. Post last hosted the NCAA regional in both 2007 and 2008 In 2007, the Pioneers advanced to the third round after defeating Dowling College, 3-0, before falling to West Chester University in the third round  in an overtime shootout. In 2008, C.W. Post lost a 1-0 heartbreaker in the second round to Bridgeport.

Game 1: No. 3 American International (13-6-1) vs. No. 6 Georgian Court  (11-8-2) - Friday - 1 p.m.
Game 2: Winner of Game 1 vs. No. 2 C.W. Post (17-2-1) - Sunday - 1 p.m.
All games will be played on Robert Blitz Field.
