Babic and Svensson Top Off Career With Daktronics, Inc. All-America Honors
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (Dec. 2, 2010)- Daktronics. released its All-America selections for the 2010 season, honoring C.W. Post senior defender
Anna Svensson (Stockholm, Sweden) with a spot on the All-America first team roster and selecting
Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) for the All-America third team.
Svensson and Babic were one of only three ECC players to receive the honors, as University of Bridgeport senior Linda Velaj was placed on the All-America third team squad.
Svensson, the 2010 East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, is a four-time all-conference selection and a two-time Daktronics All-Region pick. She started in every single game the Pioneers played during her tenure in green and gold. This season scored one goal and and added one assist to her credit while anchoring a defense that allowed only ten goals all season.
Babic, the 2010 East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, is a four-time all-conference selection, three-time Daktronics, Inc. All-Region pick, and two-time CoSIDA/ESPN All-District honoree. The senior scored 13 goals and tied for the lead with eight assists on the seaosn.
C.W. Post completed its season with an overall record of 14-2-4, winning the East Coast Conference championship and advancing to the third round in the NCAA tournament.
