Central Islip, N.Y. (March 8, 2010) – The C.W. Post softball team swept this week's East Coast Conference weekly awards. Sophomore outfielder Kerry Fisher (Barto, Pa.) was Player of the Week, junior Sarah Kiser (Arnold, Md.) earned Pitcher of the Week and freshman second baseman Rogin Hardy (Kirkland, Wash.) was recognized as Rookie of the Week.
The Pioneers opened their season on Sunday with wins against Clarion University (5-2) and Stonehill College (6-0).
Fisher batted 3 for 6 with two doubles and a triple and batted in five runs in two games against Stonehill and Clarion.  She opened the seventh inning against Stonehill with a two-run double. Fisher also had two triples in the game.
 
Kiser posted her first win of the season with a seven inning shutout against Stonehill. Kiser scattered four hits with one walk while sitting down 12 batters.
 
Hardy batted 6 for 7 with two doubles, four singles and two RBI against Clarion and Stonehill.
 
C.W. Post (2-0) is in Kissimmee, Fla. this week competing in a round of games as part of the Rebel Spring Games. The Pioneers continue play with single games against Minnesota-Mankato, University of Sciences, California (Pa.) as well as PSAC opponents Slippery Rock, Edinboro, Shippensburg, Lock Haven and Indiana (Pa.).
