Softy Receives Daktronics Inc. Honorable Mention All-America Recognition
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 26, 2010) – Senior shortstop Christie Softy (Floral Park, N.Y.) of the C.W. Post softball team was named to the Daktronics Inc. Honorable Mention All-America squad, the organization announced Wednesday.
Softybroke C.W. Post's career records in homeruns (48), doubles (56), RBI (216), games played and games started (235). In 2010, she compiled a .367 batting average to rank sixth in the ECC and lead the conference in slugging percentage (.728), homeruns (17) and runs batted in (67). Softy knocked out at least one home run in a stretch of seven games earlier this season which set a new NCAA record. In her four-year career as a Pioneer, Softy has been named a NFCA First Team All-American, ECAC All-Star, a three-time All-Region selection as well as a four-time All-Conference and Daktronics First Team selection.
