NFCA Names Medina Third Team All-American
STARKVILLE, Miss. (May 27, 2010) – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-America Teams and senior centerfielder Melissa Medina (Levittown, N.Y.) of the C.W. Post softball team was voted Third Team by the national committee.
Medina led the team in batting average (.409), hits (76) and runs scored (51). She broke the school's hits record (294) and at-bats (747) over a span of four years. Medina is a four-time ECC First Team selection and NFCA All-Region selection.
C.W. Post concluded its season with a 41-16 overall record. The Pioneers were the East Coast Conference regular season champions with a 25-3 conference record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth straight year.
