BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (July 13, 2010) Shantey Hill, Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at C.W. Post, recently graduated from the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females.
Hill attended four consecutive weekend development sessions and a week-long workshop with the purpose of expanding their experience in leadership roles. The courses included leadership and administration, human resource management, finance and fundraising, booster, public and media relations and inner game of leadership sessions.

“Being selected to participate in the 2010 Class of the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females has truly been a blessing,” remarked Hill.  “The information I've learned coupled with the network of friends that I have made over the past twelve months has proved to be invaluable to my growth as a leader both personally and professionally. The NCAA office of Diversity and Inclusion has done a tremendous job in establishing a top notch curriculum filled with extraordinary facilitators and staff and I am extremely proud to be a graduate of this program. I would sincerely like to thank them along with the entire C.W. Post Athletic Department and the many other family and friends who supported me along this journey.“
The NCAA Leadership Institute established its education program in 2001 providing support for the shortage of senior-level ethnic minority female and males in athletics.
In her current position as Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, Hill is responsible for all facets of compliance ensuring that the University's Athletic Department abides by the rules and regulations set forth by both the NCAA and Conference offices. To assist with this task and to help better service the needs of the Pioneer student-athletes, Hill often serves as the liaison for the department and the various campus administrative offices.  She works closely with the Director of Athletics and has assumed many of the daily operational responsibilities within the department. She is the sport administrator for several of the Pioneer athletic teams.
Hill is a 1999 graduate of C.W. Post (B.S. Physical Education) and was a standout member of the Pioneer women's basketball team. In 2001, Hill obtained a master's degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania and added a second master's degree in Health Education in 2004 from Columbia University's Teachers College.
