Men’s Cross Country Selected Seventh in East Regional Rankings
NEW ORLEANS (Aug. 30, 2010)– With the release of the Preseason Division II Regional Rankings last week, the C.W. Post cross country team finds itself seventh in the East Region, as voted on by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
C.W. Post is joined in the regional rankings by eight Northeast-10 teams and one team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, Felician College, who finished ninth in the rankings. At the top of poll, UMass Lowell holds onto the number one ranking, a spot where the team was at the end of last year. Rounding out the ranking's top three spots are American International and Stonehill
After an outstanding season in 2009, the Pioneers look to accomplish even more in the 2010 campaign. With the seventh ranking in the region, C.W. Post becomes the only team from the East Coast Conference to enter the top 10. The Pioneer cross country team also received a high ranking in the East Coast Conference preseason poll. The men's team finished first, with 61 total points, including five first place votes.
