ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Sept. 10, 2010) – The C.W. Post women's soccer team snagged its second win of the year off the foot of senior midfielder Danielle DeLuca (Islip, N.Y.), who assisted on all three goals in the Pioneers 3-1 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday morning at Dean Skelos Athletic Complex in Rockville Centre, N.Y.

The Pioneers improve to 2-1-1, while West Virginia Wesleyan drops to 1-3-1.
C.W. Post asserted itself early, as Pioneer senior defender Jessie Gianatti (Southington, Conn.) scored just one minute into the contest, on a DeLuca pass that Gianatti took from 12-yards out on the right side of the box, sending the shot into the left corner of the net for the early goal.
The 1-0 lead held up for nearly 55 minutes as the Pioneers and Bobcats battled back in forth, with C.W. Post controlling the majority of the game attacking the Bobcat's half, but it was not until the 55th minute that Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) finally broke through as she took a DeLuca feed and chipped it over the goalie, where the ball banked off the left post and into the net for a 2-0 lead.
Another insurance goal came just five minutes later at 60:27 as Alexa Niciforo (East Islip, N.Y.) got a shot off after the ball rebounded off the post and sent it into the net for a 3-0 advantage.
Junior goalkeeper Allie Weiser (Grand Island, N.Y.) posted the win in goal, making three shots in the victory. The Pioneers outshot the Bobcats 11-6, and held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. WVW got a two-save effort in goal from Lauren Hessian, who allowed three goals before giving way to Emma McCok, who posted a scoreless slate in the final 15:11 of play.
C.W. Post will travel to Philadelphia University on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
