Women's Soccer Battles UMass-Lowell to 0-0 Tie

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. (Sept. 2, 2010) – The C.W. Post women's soccer team and the UMass-Lowell River Hawks battled through two overtimes, but the game ended in a scoreless tie in the season opener for both teams as American International College hosted a season-opening tournament on Abdow Field.

Junior goalkeeper Allie Weiser (Grand Island, N.Y.) made ten saves in goal, while UML counterpart Micaela Butlin stopped six shots.

The Riverhawks outshot the Pioneers 16-9, but C.W. Post held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) and Prudence Rydstrom (Islip, N.Y.) each took two shots on goal for the Pioneers.

C.W. Post will next take on tournament host AIC on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
