BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 29, 2010)
– The C.W. Post field hockey team will take part in the Susan G. Komen “Play 4 the Cure” breast cancer awareness initiative in its Saturday afternoon contest against Kutztown University on Hickox Field at 2 p.m.
The field hockey, coaches and staff will participate in the Susan G. Komen Foundation Play 4 the Cure event by wearing the color pink to show their support of the "Think Pink" search for a cure.

The month of October is the official Breast Cancer Awareness Month of the National Susan G. Komen Foundation.  The fall is also the height of field hockey season, making it a perfect choice for the hockey community to hold their Play 4 the Cure events.

The Play 4 the Cure movement was created by Mystx Field Hockey Club founder, director, and head coach Tina Reinprecht. The benefit was dedicated to mothers of players in the Mystx FH Club who fought the fight against breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness is the beneficiary of the event and in two short years, the foundation has contributed over $11,000.00 towards the Philadelphia Affiliate of the SGK for the Cure.
The Pioneers ask that you join them in the fight by wearing pink to the game. There will also be raffles with all proceeds donated toward the cause.
