Box Score FLUSHING, N.Y. (Oct. 22, 2011) – The C.W. Post women's soccer team scored two goals in the first half and held off Queens in the second half to earn a 2-1 East Coast Conference victory over the Knights on Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers improve to 8-4-1 overall and 4-2 in conference play while Queens dips to 7-6-1 and 3-2-1 in ECC action.

Alexa Niciforo (East Islip, N.Y.) got the Pioneers on the board at 35:25 when she took a feed from the left side and beat Allison Breakey from eight yards out.

Lina Harle (Lund, Sweden) doubled the lead less than five minutes later as she took a pass from Niciforo and chipped the ball over Breakey for a 2-0 lead.

Following the halftime break, it took the Knights 49 seconds to break up the shutout as Andrea Slavin hit a 12-yard shot into the top middle of the net on a Queens free kick.

But C.W. Post shut down the Knights the rest of the way as the Pioneers held on for the win.

Senior Allie Weiser (Grand Island, N.Y.) made three saves to earn the victory while Breakey stopped five shots for the Knights.
