C.W. Post Cross Country Men and Women Recognized For Academic Excellence
NEW ORLEANS, LA. (February 25, 2011) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) have named four C.W. Post cross country runners a part of 182 student-athlete list that were named 2010 Division II Cross Country All-Academic Honorees.
Pioneer male runners
Christian Altamura (Seaford, N.Y.),
Raymond Coyle (Woodhaven, N.Y.),
Vince Giambanco (Muttontown, N.Y.), and
Joseph Lasher (Seaford, N.Y.) were all on the lists for C.W. Post. As a team, the men earned a 3.29 GPA collectively. The women earned a 3.39 GPA as a whole and both teams were recognized as All-Academic Teams.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team in Division II, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or greater through the most-recent semester, completed at least 12 credit hours in the semester of cross country competition, and placed in the top 50 percent at the most recent NCAA National Championships or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.
