Men's Cross Country Continues to Set Personal Bests During Offseason Training
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 23, 2011) – The men's Cross Country team has continued year round training, with some of the men setting personal bests for their own times in the process.
At the Columbia Last Chance Meet, Matthew O'Keefe (East Rockaway, N.Y.), Joseph Lasher (Seaford, N.Y.), and Thomas Speicher (Levittown, N.Y.) all set their personal bests in the 5k. O'Keefe ran a 15:38.44, with Lasher finishing with a 15:38.5 and Speicher completed the course in a time of 16:07. Lasher also set a new best in the 3000m when he ran a time of 9:00 at the Armory Collegiate Challenge. Senior #Vince Giambanco# (Muttontown, N.Y.) ran a personal best in the 1-mile at 4:17 and clocked in at 8:49 in the 3000 meter at the Armory Challenge.
Two additional C.W. Post runners also set new personal bests during the 3000m, this time coming at the Saturday Night at the Races at the New York City Armory. Christian Altamura (Seaford, N.Y.) ran a time of 8:50, with Raymond Coyle (Woodhaven, N.Y.) registering a time of 8:56.
