Dowling answered back in the fifth with a three-run home run to left field off the bat of Melissa Perez to take a 5-1 lead.
The Pioneers continued to battle and put two runs on the board in the fifth when Fisher reached on an infield fielding error with bases loaded that allowed Palazzo and freshman Britney Agostini (Dover, Del.) to score. They threatened in the sixth and seventh with a runner on third but could not catch up in the game.
